Shaffer Building Services has held a prominent presence in the commercial roofing industry for more than 40 years. Originally founded as E. A. Shaffer & Sons Inc., after founder Eugene A. Shaffer and his sons Andrew and Patrick, the company began by serving the local business community in the Upstate New York region.
Upon Eugene's retirement in 1996, Andrew and Patrick continued running the family business.
In 2006, Shaffer Building Services purchased Giarrosso Sheetmetal Corporation, a local and well established sheet metal fabrication and installation business. This let us expand our services to include custom sheet metal products.
Today we serve commercial and residential clients across the region with new roofing, replacement roofing, general contracting, maintenance repair and general carpentry.

All new employees receive fall protection, Hazcom, OSHA 10 hour and general workplace safety training before the start of their employment. Every employee has attended OSHA 10 safety classes.
At the beginning of each week we meet as a company to discuss ways to improve safety, plus weekly toolbox talks on subjects that affect our industry.
Before work starts, our safety director performs an on-site analysis to find and remove hazards, then makes follow-up visits throughout the project.
